Audio Transfer and Digitization
Digitize your old analog speech recordings. We can also provide transcripts.
We can transfer your music & speech recordings to digital files. You can then download them directly from our site, or if you prefer, we'll burn your recordings to a CD.
Our first area of expertise is that of speech recordings. This includes oral histories, lectures, speeches, interviews, meetings, hearings, sermons, audio letters, and any recordings of an evidentiary nature. We can transfer these recordings from many formats such as microcassette, standard cassette, reel to reel, and even 8-track tape to a digital file format. We can also transfer recordings to formats other than digital files such as a standard cassette or audio CD*. Additionally, we offer audio enhancement and noise reduction services to improve the sound quality and eliminate annoying background noises. Click here to see the audio formats we accept.
Mini and microcassette players are manufactured with only headphone sockets. This allows you to connect your mini or microcassette player to the computer or other recording device, but with inferior results. We have specially modified mini and microcassette players with phono sockets for higher quality lines out. This results in improved sound quality and a reduced need for audio enhancement and noise reduction services.
If you would like your recordings transcribed, we do provide transcription services in both English and Spanish.
*If requested, for an additional $8.00 per CD we can transfer your recording to an Archival Gold® CD. These CDs have a longer life expectancy due to the gold layer, a vastly improved dye not used for regular CD-Rs, and a scratch resistant coating also not found on regular CDs.

We also offer audio transfer services for music recordings. If you have old audio cassettes, reel to reel tapes, 8-track tapes, or even elcasets – we can digitize them. Once digitized, we offer music restoration & enhancement services if needed. You can then download the digital files directly from our website or we can ship you a CD or DVD. In addition, we can transfer music recordings from DAT, DCC, and minidiscs to a digital file format or audio CD.
At this time, we are not offering transfer services for vinyl. Although, we do have plans to offer record transfer & restoration services in the future.

With tape recordings, sometimes problems occur that need physical attention rather than just software applications. Sometimes there is a buildup of dust and other contaminants which can affect the sound quality. To improve the frequency response lost due to the grit and dust, cleaning the tape with a special tape cleaning fabric is warranted. Also, some tapes are prone to sticky tape/shed syndrome. When this occurs, a process commonly known as tape baking is needed. We are equipped to handle both these problems. Click here to read more about tape baking. After physical restoration is completed, if any, the recording is then transferred to a digital file format and software is used for any necessary signal processing.
Tapes with more severe damage due to fire, flooding and mold are currently not accepted.
